Model Boats

Okay. Did a couple of things over time. First was the beading around the inside of the hull plus the 'Cross Beams'. Measurements were taken from the RNLI Plans and a decision I had to make straight off was whether I was going 'fit out' the interior of the cabin as this could/would have an impact on the 'Cross Beams' in order for the Superstructure to sit into the hull. For those not familiar with a Mersey, you step down into the main cabin which effectively puts you below the deck.

Okay. This should be interesting. I've had the Hull and Cabin for a 12th Scale Mersey for some years now. Unfortunately a lot of things have gotten in the way of the build - i.e. Family and The real thing. 

I'm crew at Newcastle Lifeboat Station in Northern Ireland and have worked my way up from Shore Crew to Helm of the Inshore D-Class and Navigator on our Mersey - (12-29 Eleanor and Bryant Girling). I'm currently working towards my Coxswain pass-out but Covid-19 has put the brakes on that for a while - Maybe early to mid 2021 should see more progression on that aspect. . Hopefully in the not too distant future, our Mersey will be replaced by a new Shannon Class Lifeboat. I'm not going to jinx it with a date as Mr Covid is covering that but hopefully the good folks at RNLI Headquarter will be able to fend things off.
